Think Beyond 100 Years

Our maximum life expectancy is around 100 years. When we make plans for ourselves, they usually extend only a few decades into the future. But what comes next? There is another life—eternal and permanent—that every person will face. Yet, very few people reflect on that life or prepare for it, even though it begins immediately after death. As stated in the Noble Qur’an, life after death is everlasting.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “Remember death often, the destroyer of all pleasures of this world”. This profound reminder inspires believers to seek Allah’s pleasure through righteous deeds, instead of becoming absorbed in the temporary attractions of this worldly life.

Human life in this world is short and uncertain. People die every day, and no one knows when their own death will come—it could happen at any moment. In this brief lifetime, most people are unable to fulfill all their worldly dreams or achieve every goal. Even if they do, their enjoyment is limited and temporary. While it is permissible to enjoy the blessings of this world, it must always be within the boundaries set by Allah in the Divine Book.

True success lies in balancing worldly responsibilities with preparation for the Hereafter, ensuring that our faith, legacy, and good deeds continue to benefit us in the eternal life to come.
