Eternal life refers to the un-ending existence that begins after death and continues forever. In Islam, the concept of eternal life encompasses everlasting existence in either Paradise (Jannah) or Hell (Jahannam). It signifies the continuation of the soul’s existence after death. One’s final destination is determined by faith and deeds in this worldly life. A person goes through several stages after death before reaching their final destination in eternal life.

 

“And this worldly life is nothing but amusement and diversion; but indeed, the home of the Hereafter — that is the eternal life, if only they knew.”
