Death

Death is understood in Islam as a natural and inevitable part of life, marking the transition from the temporary world to the eternal Hereafter. It is not viewed as the end of existence but rather the beginning of a new phase in the soul’s journey. In Islam, when a person dies, their soul (rūh) separates from the body (jasad) and enters an intermediate state called Barzakh — a barrier or phase between worldly life and the Hereafter where it remains until the Day of Judgment.

“Every soul shall taste death, and you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So, whoever is kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has indeed triumphed. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion.”

-The Noble Qur’an:  Chapter 3 (Surah Āl ‘Imrān) Verse 185
